Online sessions were divided into icebreaking/bonding time filling a Padlet with pupil’s experience under confinement, and the play of virtual immersive escape rooms. Every partner country led one of the sessions, enabling observations of different approaches to online education. Bonding time was not only successful as a learning activity to foster English skills, but also as a very emotional experience. Students interacted online in collaborative groups into 3D virtual settings using as methodology the play of 3 different online escape rooms. They included synchronous and asynchronous activities, involving creativity, collaboration and 3D virtual visits to RijksMuseum, Maritime Museum of Amsterdam and Groninger Museum.
While augmented reality enables interactions with live, real settings, virtual reality enables immersive interactions in a virtual world. We intended to replicate the experience of a real online week, including a virtual European Evening party that was unplanned, it was asked by pupils.
